ALEXIS MONTAÑO MORENO Alexis was born in Guapi- Cauca, Colombia, the on September 14 of 1989. He was born and raised next to Guapi River. Since, he was 5 years old; he followed “Arrullos”, the traditional processions to honor Saints and Virgins. Alexis began to develop a musical talent at a very young age, mainly influenced by the presence of his grandmother with whom he grew up, since his mother had to migrate to Cali due to her bad financial condition. Alexis, thanks to his grandmother learnt how to value the traditions of his homeland. Alexis studied at Institución Educativa San José, graduating at 21 as a traditional musician from the Pacific Coast. Right after that, thanks to the Ministry of Culture, he traveled to Cali to continue his studies at the University of Fine Arts of that city. Unfortunately, because of his lack of resources, Alexis is forced to drop out from that institution, recurring to the streets to play in order to survive and searching for opportunitie
